From a kitchen-table dream to a Crystal Coast tradition.

On the beautiful Crystal Coast of North Carolina, tucked near the water where the sea breeze carries the smell of salt air and fresh coffee, a dream began for the McCausley family in 2014. What started as late-night conversations around the kitchen table between a hardworking mother, her son, and daughter slowly became something much bigger than any of them imagined — a place built on family, faith, hard work, and southern hospitality. That dream would become Angie's Lighthouse Cafe. The vision was simple from the very beginning: create a restaurant where locals felt at home, tourists felt like family, and every meal was made with heart. Inspired by the coastal charm of North Carolina's historic lighthouses and the warmth of home-cooked meals, the McCausley family poured everything they had into bringing the cafe to life. There were long days and sleepless nights in the early years. The family worked side by side doing whatever it took — cooking, cleaning, serving tables, washing dishes, greeting guests with a smile, and learning together every step of the way. It wasn't always easy, but they never gave up on the dream they shared. As word spread, Angie's Lighthouse Cafe quickly became more than just a restaurant. It became a gathering place. Families came after church for breakfast, fishermen stopped in before sunrise, vacationers discovered the comfort of southern cooking after long beach days, and regulars became lifelong friends. The smell of fresh biscuits, sizzling bacon, hot coffee, and homemade meals filled the cafe each morning, creating memories that people carried with them long after they left. At the center of it all was family. The McCausleys believed that food brings people together, and every customer who walked through the doors was treated like they belonged there. That small dream from 2014 grew into something special — not because of fancy buildings or big investors, but because of love, determination, and a family willing to bet on each other. Today, Angie's Lighthouse Cafe stands as a reminder that some of the best stories begin with humble beginnings and a simple dream. From a mother, son, and daughter with a vision… to a beloved hometown cafe filled with laughter, memories, and southern home cooking — the story of Angie's Lighthouse Cafe is still being written every single day.
